Job Title: Behavioral Health Intern
Location: LLI Leadership Development Inc., Washington, DC
Position Type: Internship (Unpaid)
Duration: 10–12 weeks; Semester or Year-Round
Reports to: Behavioral Health Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Behavioral Health Intern will support licensed professionals in delivering mental health and behavioral services to clients. This internship offers supervised, hands-on experience in both clinical and administrative aspects of behavioral health, including client engagement, assessment, documentation, and program development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe and co-facilitate individual and group therapy sessions
  • Support case management activities such as referrals, follow-ups, and client coordination
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA and agency policies
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and trainings
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and program evaluation as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field
    • Strong interest in working with diverse populations and underserved communities
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
